Join us for another in-person CHYP event on March 8th at Old East Tavern, where we'll enjoy delicious drinks, light hors d'oeuvres, and great company! This event will be from 5:30 - 7 p.m. We hope to see you there!

About Chapel Hill Young Professionals

The Chapel Hill Young Professionals (CHYP pronounced "chip") is a group of fun professionals under 40 that meets monthly for networking, professional development, and community service. 

Events are monthly on the first Tuesday. Pop-up joint events and community service projects are added to the calendar regularly and members receive event notifications via newsletter.

Space and service provided by Old East Tavern 

Old East Tavern offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for the ultimate enjoyment of elevated food, fine wine, craft beer, and award-winning specialty cocktails. Our mission is to create community, friendships, and exemplary experiences one savor, sip and smile at a time. 

Old East has several unique private event spaces and has hosted numerous parties including rehearsal dinners, wine dinners, corporate gatherings, birthday and graduation parties. The Porch is a bright space with 6 farmhouse tables that can seat 48. Garage doors open to 30 seats outdoors. The Penny Room has a copper ceiling, large round table and a floor made of pennies. It can seat 24. The Snug is a cozy private room with red velvet curtains, couches and comfortable seating, and Tiffany lamps. It can seat 16. 

Adjacent to Old East Tavern is its sister coffee shop, The Poplar Café. The Poplar Café offers a cozy space, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and small bites including bagels and muffins.
