Post-Chantal Recovery Check-In: Navigating Resources, Rebuilding Together
Tropical Storm Chantal may have passed, but recovery is still ongoing for many in our business community. Join us for a focused panel conversation with legal and recovery experts who have been on the front lines of rebuilding efforts across North Carolina. We’ll also hear from Janell Dixon of the SBA’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, who will provide an update on the progress made so far at the federal level and how these efforts connect to local recovery efforts.
Panelists include:
Chris Lewis, Attorney, AskLawNC — insurance issues and what to watch for when filing and following up on claims.
Elizabeth “Brooks” Savage, Partner, Wilson, Jones, Carter & Baxley (Raleigh) — experience supporting communities through disasters, including Western NC in 2021.
Scott Burger, Attorney, AskLawNC — lease issues and landlord–tenant challenges in recovery.
James W. Kilbourne, Jr., Partner, Allen Stahl + Kilbourne — disaster recovery and complex litigation impacting businesses and communities.
What to Expect:
Straightforward insights on insurance, leases, FEMA/SBA resources, and legal issues.
An update from SBA on progress to date and what it means for your business.
Clear direction on what to watch out for as recovery moves forward.
A chance to connect with peers and ask the questions that matter most to your business.
Please note: Panelists will provide general information and guidance only. This session is not intended as specific legal advice.
Recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. Let’s take the next step together.
