Orange County secured 400+ new jobs and a nearly $40 million investment from Swiss industrial company, ABB, as it expands its Mebane facility.

The new positions in Orange County will include engineers, project managers, and production personnel. Wages for these new jobs will vary depending on the position, but the average salary for all new positions could reach up to $70,789. The current average wage in Orange County is $46,112.
 
The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. (EDPNC) led the state’s support for the company’s decision, with strong engagement from several partners, including Orange County Economic Development, led by Steve Brantley, who is a former NC Department of Commerce executive.
