Hurricane Florence: What to Know and Who to Call (Part 2)

Hurricane Florence: What to Know and Who to Call (Part 2)

OK Chamber members, its game time.

For several days we have all be planning for Hurricane Florence’s arrival.  Please don’t be lulled by slower winds and a more southern eye - the wind and water impacts will be substantial, and you should continue to brace for the worst.  Listen to local radio at 97.9 The Hill and follow local media and government on social media (links below).

Call or text if you need anything (my info is below).  Ask for help.  Offer help.

A key reminder on WATER - Tap water will continue to flow and remains safe to drink even if the power goes out. That said, depending on the severity of the hurricane, it's possible that water service may be interrupted. Please store one gallon of water per person per day, for 3 to 7 days, by purchasing it or preparing your own containers at home (I am going the container route). OWASA Hurricane information and OWASA Hurricane FAQs.

Insurance: Begin thinking about recovery and any insurance filings you may have to make by doing a photo or video tour of your home and office.  Record it all, it will be worth it if you need it.
